Story
On the 5th of December 2003 a group of Italian regions (after a series of informal meetings during 2002-2003 and with the consent of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance and the European Commission) officially decided to follow a joint coordinated policy in the field of Innovative Actions. Thus, they created CoorIInnA . This exigency is sustained by the European Union's global strategy that invites interested regions to take part in interregional cooperation networks in order to produce a multiplier effect in relation to the transfer of good practices and the emergence of new projects. For this reason the European Commission provides the possibility for Regions wishing either to participate or act as a lead partner in networks or to undertake other forms of experience exchange of, to include a specific action in their proposal for a regional programme of innovative actions. Each partner region co-finances CoorIInnA with a quota taken from its RPIA accompanying measure. Tuscany Region coordinates network activities as lead partner.
